Google Suggest

What is Google Suggest?

With Google Suggest, Google offers a service to complete questions or topics that are asked to the search engine in the search bar. While you are still typing in your search term, Google recognizes the query and suggests similar terms or additions to the word after you have typed in a few letters and displays them below the search bar.

Where do Google search suggestions come from?

According to Google, the search terms that you have already entered in the search engine are suggested first. In addition, Google Suggest takes into account the frequency of the search query by other users. However, these suggestions can vary.

An example for you:
At the beginning of 2020, the “Brexit” was carried out in England. Due to the strengths and weaknesses of the concept of leaving the EU, it was the talk of the town. If, for example, you had entered “England” in the search field on Google at that time, you would have been given “England Brexit” as well, since the search volume for this topic rose sharply over the corresponding weeks. However, as soon as these terms are no longer searched for so frequently in this context, Google will bring you alternative suggestions that will displace the word “Brexit” from Google Suggest.

Your location also plays an important role in the suggestions for your search. For example, if you search with the term “ice cream parlor”, you will be shown search results in the immediate vicinity that match your query. This process is also called geo- and language targeting, because the needs of the user change depending on the location.

How do Google suggestions work?

Google Suggest puts the user first. The aim is to make it as simple and error-free as possible to use. This saves the user time when typing by clicking on the appropriate suggestion from Google. It also helps to avoid spelling errors that would otherwise have resulted in not displaying the appropriate search results.
For this to work, Google uses an algorithm. However, one important point in this algorithm is known: Using the right keywords. These help you and your company to be found more easily on the Internet.

Identify relevant keywords with Google Suggest

For the research of keywords, you have a wide variety of tools at your disposal. To find relevant keywords, you can also use Google Suggest, for example.
Suggested search terms are displayed as soon as you enter the first letter of your keyword in the search bar, for example. This gives you an overview of which keywords are being searched for in connection with your keywords.
